The Miljoonaympyrä is a roundabout in the centre of Huittinen, informally named because there were several banks around the roundabout.
Near the roundabout you can find four statues, each approximately the size of a human being. Made at different times but similar in style, the statues catch the attention of passers-by and provoke thought.
Matkalla (1996) is a work by Heli Ryhänen, made of fibreglass and reinforced plastic. The statue is owned by OP Satakunta. Esteitä (1977) is a work by Matti Kalkamo and Heli Ryhänen, originally acquired by the Huittisten Puhelin company, but the city is the current owner.
Ympyrähullut (2012) is the most recent of the works, consisting of six lighting columns and figures cast in bronze. The work was commissioned by the city of Huittinen, who wanted it to fit in with the other works in the circle. Ympyrähullut was also awarded the Environmental Art Foundation’s 2012 Environmental Art Prize.
